I've been looking for R. violacea for years too but they are almost non-existent in the US. I knew a palm vendor who had an immature one in his yard but he has since sold that property. They come from far eastern Cuba and are probably much like other Roystonea spp except for the purple crownshaft. That area of Cuba is pretty much shut down by Cuban govt. and military (think Guantanamo) so no outsiders are allowed. I hope someday seeds may become available.

Palms of Victory I shall wear

Cape Coral (It's Just Paradise)

Zone 10A on the Isabelle Canal
Elevation: 15 feet

I'd like to be under the sea in an octopus' garden in the shade.

Must have been before my time. Never seen them reliably listed anywhere.
