Mazari palm not so slow after all?

I thought Mazari Palms are supposed to be slow growers? My seedlings have outgrown all my other hardy palm seedlings. They seem to love Oklahoma's 90+ summer temps with heat directly on the black pots. I kinda neglected them except for watering but they still grew faster.

It looks like you have the non-Arabica form. The Arabica form is fussy and will barely take temps in the upper 20's. I need to try the regular form you have.

Heat seems to be the secret to fast growth, all of mine grew faster than my sabal Louisiana or Windmill palm seedlings that germinated at around the same time.

Arabica and ritcheana grow at a moderate pace. Nick is correct about small arabica, they must have very well draining soil and cannot tolerate much colder than freezing when small.

These were originally seeds from you TexasColdHardyPalms lol. Growing pretty quick I think. I will probably keep them as potted plants on my porch for the rest of their lives here. I have a very dry place in the yard that would probably work but not so much in winter when the rains come.

Fantastic! I'm glad to hear that everything worked out.
