Just took delivery on some sweet Syagrus hybrids!

Picrophylla x Queen:

Do you already know exactly where you'll plant them? for me this is the most difficult part of the job; deciding where!

No clue.  I just couldn't resist picking these up.  I'll probably leave some of them in pots for winter...maybe I'll plant a couple out?

I know that situation, be careful not to keep your palms in pots for many years:
In Sri lanka, they root themselves through the pots and brake it even if it's plastic container. Good for them :D

really interesting hybrids, any kind of Syagrus  cross  with romanzoffiana must be quite resistant to little frost

I don't think they will...they already look different.  Look at the picrophylla (my favorite too, Derrick) - already looks quite different.  In any case, should be fun to see what they turn into, and have more than enough frost tolerance from here.  That's what I like about the Queen component.
