Beccariophoenix alfredii or fenestralis?

Hi, I bought this palm as a B. alfredii and I'm not shure anymore. Is it usual for this size to get some "gaps" as marked or is it a juvenile fenestarlis (windows)?Beccariophoenix.jpg.5578967b2abc282d4ec1

thx.

I agree it's an alfie.

Fenestralis have much wider leaves, though they are still bifid.

Should be a winner on Cyprus!

Very nice alfredii Steve. Did you buy this here in Cyprus?

I don't think you can get it here, it came from a seed (rps). Would be nice to get it here in CY as a plant.

Where did you get yours?

I also grew them from seeds from RPS. I had 2 a little bigger than yours but i lost them last year from my mistake. I moved them from the pot to the ground and back to the pot trying to find the best location in the garden but I finally lost them. Now I am growing more from seeds and one is already in the ground.

How nice to see more of them. Unfortunately I have only one and I want to keep it in the pot one or two years more.

Nick, these Alfies have VERY fast growing roots.  Maybe you can get away with one year in a pot but 2 may be a problem.  Alfies are one palm that is planted in the ground the sooner the better in my experience.   Get it planted my friend.

@Hammer. I agree, but I have to prepare the spot first and remove some concrete before planting.

I know all pants are growing better in the ground, especially deep routers as palms.
