Mine haven't sprouted yet. I cant seem to crack the syagrus or parajubaea code. I can germinate butia, jubaea, jubaopsis caffra and everything else without issue but syagrus and pj. I'm thinking i am getting poor seed.....

Mine haven't popped yet but I have previously had nothing but great quality seed from caixeta....... Mine have only been down around 1 month and I expect they will sprout very soon.

I used the baggy method. I'm not a real big fan of this method but I didn't have enough seeds for a community pot.

Did you use a heating pad?

I ended up just putting them in a community pot. It's pretty darn hot outside now anyway. I put wire mesh over the top so squirrels and whatnot can't mess with them.

oooh, I like the wire technique!

I need to do that to keep the mice out of my community pots.

no heat. I just keep them inside on my dinning room table for a few weeks. only half of them sprouted. The rest I palced in the suun to speed up the process.they are still in ziplock baggies with coconut chore as the medium.

I have had the best results with syagrus soaking the seed in water for 7 days & then using the baggie method in full sun.
