Fair Warning Big Island

A big aloha to our new neighbors. Today the escrow closed on the sale of our San Clemente home and I removed it from my profile. Lynn and the critters are already on the farm on the Big Island and I will follow at the end of the month. Hope to start construction on the new home within a few months. Another chapter in our book of adventures begins. Visitors always welcome.

Great news, George! :) Congratulations to you and Lynn, and getting started on your new home here on the island will be very exciting! Good luck with the construction. :)

Thanks, Bill.

Will have occasional trips back to So Cal and if they coincide with a PSSC meeting, I might just surprise you. When you make the grand tour of the Big Island, let us know - would love to have you visit.

Congratulations on making the big move!  You've been working toward that goal a long time. Best wishes for your construction project to meet all your expectations and deadlines.

I'm scheduled to make the transitional flight over on the 28th. Am looking forward to taking a few days to do nothing and recover from all of the hoop jumping we've been doing over the past year, before we start on the next chapter in our book of adventures. - gmp

Congratulations! I share your excitement and enthusiasm!

It has been many years since I have seen Hawaii so it is on my short list of places to visit. If you get to my neck of the woods in PR, you are most welcome here.

Your photos always look wonderful and I know you won't regret the move!

We look forward to your visit.

Have had a bit better success in getting high speed internet connection than you had, but not without its challenges and expense. Phone company only has DSL service.  Direct TV showed up with a 4 ft wide dish, has to be ground mounted (too heavy for roof) which they don't tell you up front, and has to have a 30o clearance to the horizon so we'd need to remove some trees. Dish network download speed way too slow. The cable guys wanted $5,000 to run cable 1000 ft from their node. They said they had to purchase the space on the poles from the phone company that had had to purchase the space from the power company (poles I paid the power company $15K to install, and the phone company $5,000 to purchase space on the poles for phone line space). We chatted a bit and I finally got them down to a $1,500 cost share deal. But, alas, I won't have to drive into town to get a cup of coffee and a Palmtalk fix.

Made the one way flight last Thursday. Spent some time this weekend cleaning up the garden (and have 6 giant piles of palm fronds to attest to it). Keep telling myself, this isn't a working vacation, you live her now. - gmp
