I will shortly. I have 400 seeds on the germination station right now that should start popping any day now.

Oh nice I will check in with you later this summer. Really looking forward to trying this in my climate since I can't seem to keep b. capitata alive through a winter but my neighbors to the northwest of my location (in Canada) can grow them no problem (WTH?).

Have you tried Larry Cole in Mechosin? His are not seedlings but 15 gallon palms. I drove out to his place a couple of years ago and dropped one in the ground here in Lantzville. So far so good during the period of adjustment while settling in.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie sorry I don't know where Mechosin is. I'm assuming it's in BC? I'm in WA and without a phyto getting past customs with a plant from Canada is next to impossible. I should know I used to work for customs for 9 years. What's interesting is Canadians complain about some palms that are available in the U.S. are not readily available in Canada, but yall have palms readily available in Canada that we have a hard time finding in the U.S. i.e. Brahea Edulis, B. Eriospatha etc. Just weird.

I have a real hard time telling the difference from  Eriospatha  and capitata/odorata.

lots of big 15 gals available where I live. seems the only difference is the seed is smaller on the Eriospatha when they flower.

twins if you ask me

Josh, there is a difference with the now 25g Eriospatha that i purchased a while back from jungle music. It has the petiole color like a purpescens and a few other minor differences. I have been to a lot of nurseries that claim to have Eriospatha that looks just like the normal odorata though.  I just started growing them and the seed is smaller than most odorata,  but butia seed has a lot of variation as it is.

Thanks for the info. This genius sometimes stumps me. Like you mentioned there is a lot of variance with in this species.

Yeah I can't wait until they are big enough to be shipped. I think Pindo's (and their cousins) are some of the best looking cold hardy palms. But I don't have good lick with BC so hoping BE will be the ticket.
