I havent updated in a while, so I thought I would share this beauty that made me do a double take:

the first leaf of this Pritchardia beccariana is ~25cm! This is the largest of the batch and quite simply the most beautiful 'sprout' I have seen in my short time as a grower.

What a palm!

Oh these Raphia...

I thought my larger sprout was growing slower than the other, turns out it had some sort of eophyl/plumule split that it was preparing for, where as the smaller is still extending the sheath part upwards rapidly (~3cm in one week, if you look very closely you can see where i drew a line and how far each one has split).

I am guessing these get very huge very quickly... here goes nothing!

The longest root has come out of the bottom of the pot... should I repot it or let the rest of the roots fill the container? It is in a 9.5in / 25cm tall container at the moment.

My parent's garden is on the other side of the San Pablo Bay, so it is interesting to see how the same seeds do in different places. Im not here as often, so it is more chaotic and things are packed in pretty tight.

Im still sprouting, dont you worry!

I bought some snake fruit (Salacca zalacca) at the market, and although the flesh wasnt fully ripe, the seeds still sprouted lightning fast (as Salacca seeds do, just drop them in water)
