Who Are Your Most Missed PalmTalkers?

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking about making this thread for a while but the recent post about the absence of a previously active member inspired me to go ahead and do it.  Looking back on my time here and looking at old threads, there are many great people that are no longer with us.  Some have passed away, some may have lost interest, others have had difficult changes in schedule while yet others have struggled with health issues and such.

So who do you miss? Who would you like to have back? Whose wise council or humor would you seek if you could?

By whom?   Anyway, I miss RLR, Dick Douglas, and Merrill Wilcox.   And the many hardy palm enthusiasts who have move to other boards like TonyDFW.

It's a shame the hardy palm guys have moved on elsewhere as this is a prime topic of interest for me.  I've been on a number of other boards but I don't frequent them nearly as much as this one.

So, somewhere someone asked about RLR and how to find posts by them.  I don't remember where, or even if I answered, but this may help.

I can't really miss Dick D., because I wasn't active when he was - but I miss his contributions, which are still valuable today.  I also miss some of the Bay Area community that is gone or no longer participating here.  That's a shame given there's not exactly a plethora of us to share experiences growing in this climate.

And you and I got to visit his living legacy thanks to Shep and Patric.  Being from across the country something I will always remember and my first time to see cold hardy palms at full maturity.   I hope in my last days to see in my garden what he saw in his.
