George,

It will be nice to see you down there.  I'm helping with the auction along with Lenny and will be coming down with a few others.  But I really look forward to seeing someone here from PT and having a few special words with him. It will be fun! :winkie:

There always is a great selection of palms to bid on and with the help of the Jeff & Lenny Auction Tag Team it should be very entertaining !

Is it alright if I donated some crotons for the auction? I know they aren't palms but palmislandRandy calls them palm jewlery.

Was at a holiday function last night, many there said they were planning on attending this gala. Heard from a reliable source there are lots of rare palms that will be donated for the auction. The heavy rains have delayed the rounding up of the donations but its getting worked out. Ryan should be providing his usual photographic recap of the event. Looking forward to seeing lots of forum members in attendance!

Wow....what a fun night we all had. There had to be 75 people or more, the food was superb, but the plants that were donated stole the show. Just a few to mention were, Areca catechu Dwarf, Basselinia pancheri, Cyrtostachys renda, Corypha utan, Calyptrocalyx elegans "Boalak" ( sporting a beautifully open new red leaf ), Kentiopsis pyriformis and so much more. But thanks to our very own Ron (Moose) he brought a great selection of crotons in that was well received by the crowds and generated lots of money for the chapter. There were many Palmtalk members that showed up, just one no show we were all expecting. Anyways, the South Florida Chapter put on one nice holiday party!
