I have recently picked some fresh brahea armata seeds from a tree with amazing genetics. I have germinated off this tree before and the seed is very viable and is very easy to sprout.

here is the mother tree pictured below. As you can see this is a very blue palm with a very robust trunk. :)

I just picked up about 1000 seeds from the two most northerly trees last weekend.  The largest one has about a 40" diameter trunk and the second largest is at least 36" from base to 9' off the ground.  By far the largest Armata that I have ever seen; virtually the same girth as a filifera. Amazing specimens!

Yes, that was my point.  That is why I helped out with a picture showing the girth of the trees.  I sure wish we could have crossed paths while we were up there...

I have a still have a couple hundred left. Thanks to every who has PM'd me for them.

The germination rate is almost 90% very high indeed.
