Syagrus ID (I was told it was a hybrid)

Recommended Posts

I have a very tall 24' box syagrus I picked up a while back and I just cant figure out what it is. I was told it was a cross. The leaves are finely pinnate and growing almost vertical. Notice the inflorescens hidden in some of the old leaf bases. The seed has never matures and aborts like most hybrid palms. It has been flowering for about 2 years now

Thanks for looking

This was a hybrid cross done by "Jungle" Jack ingerson in 2000-2005 time frame

the only problem is (John) his son forgot what his dad crossed it with. He said for sure It's Queen X (some other syagrus) = hybrid

There were only a hand full for sale back in the day and I got lucky to get this specimen last year.

I'm still stumped.
