Here is Washingtonia filifera in a valley location of Albuquerque. I am guessing its age to be about 10 or 12 years old. Girthy !

That is mighty girthy. I like the look of it though, It makes a statement and its hard to miss rather than a 50 foot tall telephone pole. But I'd be fine with either if it were my own yard :)

Agree.. although they are a bit slow growing (due to their mass???) and get damaged most winters. What this town really needs is to truck in 20 foot filibusta hybrids by the hundreds. They grow so fast... if I had a landscaping company Id ship em and design em in!
