About the Williams’ Garden: Scott has been collecting palms for over twenty years and living on this property for over thirteen years. Between what is planted and in containers, he has around eighty different varieties of palms on less than 3/4 of an acre. Scott has some varieties that he has not observed elsewhere. He also collects bromeliads and has hundreds of them in trees and mounted on driftwood as well as in the ground. Scott’s landscape is more jungle than manicured which some neighbors don't appreciate he says! He also has a greenhouse planted as an atrium with a koi waterfall pond. John and Faith Bishock got Scott to join the Central Florida Palm Society when they first moved to Sarasota over twenty years ago. The Williams live in a gated community, so drive to the gate and it will open automatically and look for the Borassus aethiopium that John grew from seed in the front yard.
