Joni Mitchell has been in the hospital for a while, and a friend of hers has been appointed her conservator, which is a legal guardian usually appointed for elders who are having cognitive difficulties.

In this case, the conservator is temporary, to make health care decisions. Hope it's not as dire as it sounds.

That was not good news when I first heard. Joni's a queen. 'Blue' has always been in my top 5 LP picks, yes, even alongside Ted's first solo.
