I just bought a bag of fertilizer and was wondering how much to use on each individual palm?It is Rite Green Palm 4-1-6. It also has magnesium, manganese, iron, and sulphur. It says 1 1/2 pounds per 100 sq. feet of canopy. It also says 1/2 pound per inch of trunk diameter for potted palms. How much should I use for something with just a few leaves. I am thinking the recommendation for potted will be worse case less than I would want for something in the ground. I do have some small palms in pots and figure just a small hand full is plenty for them. I have sandy soil but have amended the soil with mulch over the last few years and it is starting to look more like soil and less like sand. Thanks

I didn't kill that plant. It committed suicide.

1/2 lb. per inch of trunkage seems over he top. For your potted plants (1 gal.- 5 gal.), a couple of tablespoons is suffice.
