c.1000 palm small palm trees for sale in London

Hi Londoners and those in SE England.

Over the past few years I’ve grown around 1000 palms in my London greenhouse. Originally I’d had great plans for these but sadly I’ve decided to emigrate and so the palms must go.

The species for sale are all grown from seed and are around five to seven years old. In general I’ve selected plants that are less common, particularly attractive and able to tolerate London’s climate.

All of the plants are around 1’ to 5’ tall and ready to re-pot into a large pot (I’ve deliberately kept them in small bags to conserve space). They’re all greenhouse grown but, being exposed to full sun (except for the L. chinensis) are not stretched.

All of these plants will grow well in a conservatory or well-lit indoor position. Outside I’ve seen most of these plants growing unprotected and looking perfect in central London (Zones 1&2). When older they should succeed well in the suburbs if protected from heavy frosts.

With the exception of Washingtonia robusta all are rather uncommon here.

I think these plants would suit either collectors, someone selling at market stalls or a small nursery who would like to offer something different.

What I don’t want to do is to sell one or two at a time (renovations seem to be taking up every minute of my life) but if someone wants their pick of 100+ palms I’m happy for you to drop by and pick what you like.

Rough quantities:

100+

Livistona chinensis (probably several hundred)

Washingtonia robusta

c.50-100

Livistona nitida

Caryota maxima

Trachycarpus sp. (various)

Phoenix theophrasti

Dioon edule

Chamaedorea microspadix

Small quantities c.20?

Phoenix loureiroi

Nannorrhops ritchiana

Brahea sp. 'Super Silver'

Washingtonia robusta x filifera

Phoenix rupicola hybrids

Sabal sp.

Phoenix sp.

Various cycads (mostly other Dioon)

Strelitzia nicolai

Anyway, do get in touch if you’re interested.

Phil
