Can you tell where this photo was taken?

sur4z, I think all images, except post #25 have been identified and located (I'm working on a more precise location for #25 lol, I don't think anyone knows other than the photographer)....

Close as I can get is somewhere in the Karst Topography of Guangxi province, perhaps near Yangshuo on a tributary of the Lijiang river?

Yup, it's very possible. There are areas south from Yangshuo that are just cloudy in Google Earth. The photographer described it as "deep in Guangxi province" without any more clues. I even tried to match a perspective-corrected image of that u-shaped river bend, but it's just way too big of an area. I also looked close to Vietnamese border where it's very similar topography.

So, I'm curious - with all this help from Google etc., will this one be easy or hard?

Hahaha Bo, you're testing me. :mrlooney::floor:

This is a small village in the countryside of Sweden, somewhere near the sea (possibly very southern area of Sweden)? South-East from Malmö?

Some guesstimates: The view is looking north or north-west and the sea is to south or south-west. A larger city is located ahead and slightly to the left of the view. Beyond that I don't have much to go on.... :hmm::)

I've been in Enskededalen a few times (near Stockholm) and the buildings look very similar.

Pando,

Testing you - well, indirectly maybe. :) What I am really testing is Google and the internet in general. How much is it possible to find out these days by simply using Google (and other search engines)? We already know that the possibilities are vast, and seemingly limitless, but SOMEWHERE there must be certain limitations. This photo apparently confirms this.

You are of course correct about it being in the countryside in Sweden, and it being in the southern area of Sweden. "Very southern" would depend on one's interpretation of "very" :mrlooney: However, as we both know, we don't need Google to determine this. Anyone who has been to Sweden would be able to come up with this. What I find more interesting are your other conclusions. You are correct that a larger city is located ahead (even though it's a good distance away) and you are correct that the view is looking north. You are not correct about the sea being to the south or southwest. It is in fact due east.

I'll leave this open for additional suggestions or comments and if no one has been able to come up with a specific location (=name of the village would be fine), I'll disclose it tomorrow, Sunday.

Dean, great photos. He is quite a legend. I have no idea how he has the energy to post daily. The guy lives quite the life.

Side rant, unfortunately, with technology even mediocre photographers can become great ones now days. Software has changed photography. Post-processing is now a norm. I prefer the old fashioned way where people earned their photos like found in National Geographic's back in the day. But than again I prefer music back when it required musicians to play instruments too :)

Oh so true about the musicians.

Since nobody was able to come up with a location for the photo in #86, here it is: the tiny village of Kristianopel (pop. 81 according to Wikipedia), on the Baltic coast in the southeastern Swedish province of Blekinge.

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

The photos in post #95 and #99 are taken from a friend's house on the island of Santa Maria in the Azores.
