Dean, how about Guilin National Park in China? (No, never been there but those mountains are pretty unique). And Pete - wow, tough one, and not much to go on. I would guess somewhere in the South Pacific, but that's a big place... :mrlooney:

Bo,

I would say that is close enough. This is what the photographer had to say.

"Deep in the Guangxi Province of China

Talk about a rough trail! This is probably the hardest and most blood-ridden trek of my life."

And this guy has a phenomenal portfolio of some of the best HDR photography I have ever seen. Here is a link to what must be a couple of hundred incredible photos of just about every genre - worth taking a look.

Dean, great photos. He is quite a legend. I have no idea how he has the energy to post daily. The guy lives quite the life.

Side rant, unfortunately, with technology even mediocre photographers can become great ones now days. Software has changed photography. Post-processing is now a norm. I prefer the old fashioned way where people earned their photos like found in National Geographic's back in the day. But than again I prefer music back when it required musicians to play instruments too :)

A PRISTINE PARADISE IN NEW CALEDONIA

The tiny Loyalty Islands could account for simply 100 percent of recent Caledonia’s solid ground, however they represent the survival of a fragile world, one untouched by mass business enterprise wherever the autochthonous Melanesians treat nature with care and respect. With landscapes jam-packed with stories, the archipelago’s heart is in its folks – and it’s their method of life that creates visiting the Loyalty Islands a really extraordinary expertise.

"Must" go and visit our near neighbours :)

Ditto Ditto Ditto...I still have a Pentax Asahi and all the lenses and a big digital Nikon but only use my cell phone camera now...and it seems the only music that features true musicians is "country".

That china river pic is much more challenging the find the exact coordinate location. I don't think it's Guilin National Park, probably closer to Vietnam border.
