been studying online how to germinate these seeds but none of the articles mention if its best to harvest seeds when green and fresh or to wait until they dry and turn black?

appreciate any tips, thanks!

Two things. One, that's not a Sabal, it looks like a Coccothrinax but the picture isn't of the whole palm so I can't be sure. Two, seeds sprout best when left to ripen fully. I usually collect freshly fallen seeds for best ripening.

Coccothrinax seeds turn purple/black when ripe. They fall off the palm easily when ripe. They are some of the easiest palm seeds to clean. Use a deep pot to germinate them - at least 15-20 cm. Coccothrinax are remote germinators and send down long radicles before pushing up leaves. Germination can take months so be patient.

I think it might be Cocothrinax barbadensis or argentea but I'm not a Cocothrinax expert. I'm leaning towards argentea. It's very beautiful and a lot cooler than Sabal palmetto. I say you scored either way!

I'm leaning towards C. barbadensis but I'm not sure. It's definitely a Coccothrinax though.
