aztropic asked to see what our Pseudophoenix sargentii look like in the rough environment right behind the dunes along the beach of the Gulf of Mexico on the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, in Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve. Here they are:

I have noticed also those fan palms growing nearby. They should be of Thrinax kind and almost all have browned segment tips, while the Pseudophoenix look perfect. I wonder what happened. Answer may have some relevance to Pseudophoenix, because in this unknown aspect latter proved much hardier!
