Sunrise, went out walking. Over the crest of the point and down to the ocean. Watched the sky change color.

Down at the pier I can see the lines coming in. No one in the water here, though, tide still kind of low.

Cormorants are sitting on Bird Sh.t Rock, the waves sound a big ka-whump! when they hit the cliff, and the resultant sea mist hangs in the air.

The action is all the way south at Ladera Street, where there are a series of reef breaks. It's crowded, the waves are big, moving fast, and difficult to catch. Unfortunately I didn't have my long lens, but it was so much fun watching these rides.

No real point to this thread, but it was a nice morning walk.

Truely a great walk Kim but I would rather be in the water wet suit and all. I usually walk in the evenings...hence the sunset thread; but occasionally I walk in the morning...hence the sunrise thread. Thanks for posting your walk.-Peter

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

Kim,

That's a great walk any time of the day, but the morning is definitely special! Those perfectly clear winter mornings in San Diego make for outstanding photography. :) But I can't make out who the 737 belongs to in the fourth photo in the first post. Next time please bring your long lens! :mrlooney:

I can see the logo -- the blue face on the tail? Sound familiar? :)

Amazing you can make that out! :bemused: That would make it Alaska Airlines, probably on its way to Hawaii! :) And the true challenge is to get the plane between those two Washingtonias! Like this Japan Airlines Boeing 787 on its way to Tokyo. :mrlooney:
