Pete,

Thanks for the heads up to this program. Even though the link is not working for those of us not fortunate enough to live in Australia, there's a shorter version that's viewable. I googled for "World's most dangerous roads Madagascar" and found the link below! :) It's a two and a half minute video, and presumably part of the longer video. This is apparently at the end of the rainy season, which runs from November through April. Fortunately, the IPS BOD meeting will be in mid October this year. And for some reason renting a car in Madagascar while there all of a sudden seems less than desirable... :laugh2:

This link simply shows a handful of photos from the same program but the two photos showing road conditions are pretty telling:

And while nothing directly dangerous in this four minute video, it shows some of the interesting challenges drivers in Madagascar are faced with!

No worries Daryl and Bo, glad to post the link, sorry US viewers cant see it, BBC must be going to air it on US tv shortly ?

Bo, your right about nothing directly dangerous , some of the scenes where the "deep red" soil road is mtrs deep and feet deep in water is a classic, it took Mariella and Angus "7 days" to travel just 300 km :)

Hmm.

This is one of those places where horseback might be the way to go. Or, muleback.

...or you just don't go

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere
