Josh, I think you might want to re-measure the height on your 12-13' palm in the first pic. Just saying..... :)

I'm curious, did you grow these carlsmithii's from a small size? From a seedling, or 1,3 gallon size? How old are these two plants, because I'm curious on the rate of growth compared to growing them here in south Florida.

Jeff, Josh has a few of the biggest dypsis and rare palm specimens available in So Cal the past couple years. These were commercially grown on the Big Island by Rancho Soledad. Len explained this in his last thread with the D. Saint lueci http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/43868-12-tall-dypsis-saintelucei-specimen/#entry674360

We arelucky to have had such a great nursery available to us collectors here in So Cal. Jerry had the right idea, growing massive palms, on Hawaiian style benches, witched passed Ag inspections , and could be shipped to So Cal and the nursery in Rancho Santa Fe. Amazing stuff has come out of this nursery, and it was such a loss when Jerry passed away. A very special man who will not be forgotten. But his plants are in our hearts, and yards, forever.

I brought in all the seed for all those dypsis back around 2005 to 2007 if I remember.

I was wondering where they got the seed. I wish you could go back and get some other cool dypsis seed.
