Those are truly stunning.

Just curious - does the angle / being paired, cause issues later in life - leaning ?

Not really, they will eventually straighten out. I'm sure that will take a million years in California because they grow very slow here. I've seen big doubles in Hawaii,Tahiti, Costa Rica, Fiji ETC and other tropical zones around the world and they seem to look fine. They just need a big hole so they can set root and get comfy so they are not competing for space.

not to throw salt in your game, but the local box store by me has these for $135. either way, its just an expensive annual for most gardens in socal.

Yes I am Josh. I have 5 lining up my driveway. I bought them as 15g last April. I'm hoping for a ton of growth this season.

Royal palms look spectacular lining a drive way. Of course it needs to be a drive way where you don't park any vehicles. Ask Dooms Dave what happens with big fat mature Royals when they decide to jettison a frond. post-1729-0-39973800-1426332293_thumb.jp

I love how this palm is looking for me here. I thought I would only be able to grow it for a short time but it's actually doing alot better than I thought. I want to try some more in more sun. Maybe an area that will get plenty of winter sun. This one hasn't seen sun all winter.

The first pic is after summer. The second is a week ago looking great after the cold.post-9726-0-15673600-1426394700_thumb.jppost-9726-0-69293400-1426394711_thumb.jp
