This palm is big and has been blooming in the spring for like 10 years but the other day I notice it is sending out new flower buds. Has anyone else seen this before this time of year?

One of my big fortunai will do this every few years in a while but they never come out until spring. I have seen fortunai and butia bloom and flower year round down in Galveston.

Thanks Dynodaddy, I figured someone must have seen this before. This is the first time I’ve experience this early and it happening on two so far. If they start pushing out earlier than normal blooms will post an update. The weather forecast this winter is looking warmer than normal and dryer. Will have to see about that! LOL!

It was pretty warm today (79 degrees) and I spent some time wandering around the yard and noticed that my small fortunai has started to push out 4 blooms as well. These were not there last week.
