Anybody familiar with this product or similar ones from our local Harris Teeter grocery store?

Anyone tried making a similar sugar from coconuts?

Get thee hence to your local desi, Sri Lankan, or far east grocer for a variety of palm-derived sugar products

I will start looking for other palm sugars. I wonder if I could get used to them as a sweetener for coffee or tea or in cooking?

Yes, there is also a small patch of sugar cane on the farm but the leaves cut me as I walk by by and I may clear it to plant another palm.

I could grow stevia there too but plenty of coconuts already.

Coconut sugar is great and actually somewhat nutritious. It is quite delicious and can be utilized in any way that processed white sugar is traditionally used. It is made by tapping the inflorescences and then the sap is cooked down and made into cakes of sugar. If you search it on YouTube you can see the whole process (as I remember, a very thorough video was done in Thailand,showing the entire process from start to finish). I am at present too lazy to do it myself so I buy it...but someday i will try to make it from our trees....

I really like the taste of the coconut palm sugar. Pretty much use it all the time when using sugar, but I don't use much sugar.

I recently finished a loaf of bread made in a thrift store purchased bread maker. I substituted coconut sugar for cane sugar and also used 1/4 cup of coconut flour plus an extra 1/4 cup liquid as directed on the bag of flour.

I liked it and will keep experimenting.

Please let me know of any others who use coconut flour or sugar or have made either!
