What's been your experience with these in the ground here? I have a 15g plant about to see it's first winter.

You should have no problems if you can avoid temps under 25F.......I have mine in for 3 years now and they have seen 24F but it slowed them down in the following spring....you may see some leaf spotting and frost kill on the more tender leaves but they always have come back.....so far....
