Ken's palms are beautiful and I take advantage of his Every-Now-And-Then trips to the west coast. So far: two Kentiopsis, a carpoxylon and a Tahina are in the ground. A satakentia is waiting to be planted in that sandy hole next to the Tahina.

Besides having nice trees, he's the original Mr. Nice Guy.

Ken, you got any variegated Rhaphis sp. offsets? I know you will be cramped for space when you come up this way.

New red leaf!

Ken, the last two leaves are healthy but appear to be shorter in length. ..is this an indication of needing more water? Fertilizer shouldn't be the problem. ...it is getting plenty. ...I think

Thanks for the comments folks. This trip is on for tomorrow! St Pete and Sarasota will be getting more palms! Kentiopsis and Chambeyronia!

Dave, I bet the shorter leaves are a combination of cold, transplant and sun acclimatization. As time goes by (years) you will need to repeat the stress to keep both those palms small. Remember how I told you to do it?

Did you know that they named Kentiopsis after Ken Johnson?

These are some of the palms Ken delivered over the weekend. Beautiful start to my new garden.
