Getting quotes to remove my last one.

In my travels have seen these throughout the world becoming weeds.

Adelaide and Cali are probably not in the weed zone. Brisbane is.

Still lots of people growing for sale because of the ease of propagation here.

Ptychos work better for a shield for me.

Wow I never thought I'd be opening that can of worms with this thread. Exotic plants escaping from parks and gardens is a huge problem. I do find it can be little annoying as there are many plants that grow well in my region that are not a risk to the natural environment but because those plants are a problem in other regions they are no longer available.

I love Dypsis lutesens and similar palms like Dypsis arenarum.

I am in Vietnam, right now, and if I could figure out a way to bring back these dwarf D. lutesens I would.

Oh nice! Do you have any pics? They are soooo good

Ptychos are a great alternative. Otherwise P. coronata works well.

It is now a few years on from when I started this thread and thought it time to share a few pics of how it has progressed. It is now taller than me.

@Pip Did you do follow any particular advise given from prior posts? Abundant water and fertilizer? Let us know.

Yes I've increased both water and fertilizer. I haven't removed any stems
