Dypsis leptocheilos x decaryi (Tri-Bear)

I seem to remember that Bill Austin had some similar striping on one of his big Dypsis in a thread a year or two ago?

As for the hybrid, mine have grown well, and don't seem too twisted? I still prefer the look of a straight Triangle or Teddybear though...and over a few years the D.leptocheilos get to the same height as well, they seem to catch up in the height dept.

Here's a shot of one of mine from the upstairs window...

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

Daryl, I have noticed that my large one has slowed down a lot like you say.

Great looking palms Len. I got 3 all from the same seed batch. Do you think they will all look the same?

Did your come from JD? Judging from how all the ones I see from JD look very similar and the fact the Searle cross has similar traits amongst it, I would bet they will look similar but since it is a cross will have some degree are variability. But I would plan on them looking pretty similar.

Curious after many trips to the Searle nursery, I've never seen his Tribears. They must be stashed somewhere?

This was back in 2008 I got mine Moose. I bet they didn't last long.
