That is a truly fascinating and promising area of medicine.

Sometimes it's the germs you don't have that matter as much as the ones you do. This can help a lot with some intestinal and other disorders, particularly where the patient had antibiotic therapy that killed off a lot of their inner "flora."

One area is the "feces transplant" which helps with certain forms of colitis, which are believed to be brought on by anitbiotic treatment.

(Solve one problem, another pops up!)

This is gross but fascinating. I knew a kid whose mom had colitis who later died (miserably) from it.
