The Zombie, (also known as skull-puncher), is a cocktail made of fruit juices, liqueurs, and various rums, so named for its perceived effects upon the drinker[citation needed]. It first appeared in the late 1930s, invented by Donn Beach (formerly Ernest Raymond Beaumont-Gannt) of Hollywood's Don the Beachcomber restaurant.[1] It was popularized soon afterwards at the 1939 New York World's Fair.

now I know why its called a "Zombie" - because you become one after drinking it.

Had one of these late night and was in a stupor for about 3 hours .

A better name might be the "Hai Karate" - be careful how you use it, particularly the rum.

Cool photo. Mai tais can also be very dangerous, especially at the Mauna Lani poolside drink shack, if I remember correctly...

Bali Hai is a one-drink-only-with-food-beforehand kind of place for me.
