I wanted to make sure PalmTalkers know about this meeting.
Dear South Florida Palm Society Members,
Monday Aug. 4th at 7:00 pm, at Fairchild Tropical Botanic
Garden, which is located at 10901 Old Cutler Rd., Coral Gables,
FL., there will be a general meeting of the membership in the
Corbin room. Refreshments will be provided, food will be Pot Luck.

We are happy to announce that Chip Jones, owner
of Jones Landscaping in Broward County, will pre-
sent the program at the August 4 meeting of the
South Florida Palm Society. His topic will be
"The Letter 'C' for Palms."
Chip has been a resident of southern Florida for
12 years and has been gardening much longer.
Originally from northern Alabama, he studied hor-
ticulture at Alabama A&M University in Hunts-
ville. His work history includes vegetative propa-
gation of gymnosperms in South Carolina, New
England native plants, and tropical landscaping.
Recently Jones Landscaping has added a nursery
in Davie and has been growing with palms, cycads,
bromeliads, and a variety of other plant interests.
There will be an auction of palms after the program.
Please donate your palms for the auction.
We will have for auction several batches of Kerriodoxa elegans
seeds. These seeds were donated by Block Botanical Garden.
We will have free seeds for our members at the seed /
membership table.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Lou Sguros
Corr. Sec. SFPS

Happy growing,

George Sparkman
