It's a naturally occurring salt production pond.

The pink color is actually from all the algae which support brine shrimp in vast numbers.

Industrial waste, jk, there are a number of pink lakes in the world, I read an article about it a while back, it's algae, like Funk says.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.
