Palm, Cycad and Tropcal Plant Sale Tomorrow, Saturday at SDBG

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 31 we'll be hosting our Annual Palm and Cycad Sale at San Diego Botanical Garden (formerly Quail Botanical Garden). As always, multiple palm and cycad nurseries from this area will be offering their plants at this once a year sale. And, we're going to have a bamboo nursery this year. It is not unusual to see rare species for sale that are seldom available at our regular meetings.

This event is co-sponsored by San Diego Botanical Garden and the Palm Society of Southern California. It starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM.

Also, this year's sale is being coordinated with the May Meeting of the PSSC. But, they have different itineraries and schedules. To get specifics on the PSSC meeting, check at the meeting section of this website or at the PSSC website. The Society will be visiting a very nice local palm garden and then be coming over to the sale. So, you can attend the meeting and visit the sale. Our regular meeting will end as we gather in Ecke Hall off the parking lot.

Special reduced entrance fees into the Garden (and for parking) are being offered to PSSC members, so mention that you are a member when arriving. They will have a membership roll and check it. We hope that you will enjoy this event. We hope to see you there.

Thanks to those of you who visited us at SDBG and also went to Bill Shafer's garden. Bill's garden has some superb New Caledonians and Madagascar specimens. It's quite aesthetic and has some cool companion plants scattered about.

I appreciate people's support of the PSSC and the San Diego Botanical Garden.
