Palmpedia has upgraded and redesigned the entire site. Improvements include numerous software upgrades such as performance enhancements, better security, drag and drop photo uploading, and many others too numerous to list. It also now has the functionality to be viewed easily on all mobile devices.

Please check it out and see for yourself.

Dean, didn't Palmpedia have a section called something like palm survivability? It was divided into, I think, into two main categories for…Mediterranean and Sub-tropical. It was all about if you can grow [insert palm], then you can most likely grow [insert palm], and it included the various maximum minimum survival temperatures. Pretty sure that Palmpedia is where I saw that very helpful info. Is it still there somewhere?

There are several mature Wodyetia bifurcata in my neighborhood--that helps determine my zone, right?

Dave - not sure if you are referring to the Palmpedia wiki or the renamed Tropiscape forum - they are two different sites and logins. I will send you an email to help straighten it out.

Good call - I should make that more obvious after the redesign. And I would like to generate more input and contributions from growers to expand on this concept of ranking according to "Survivabliity." Unfortunately I lost a lot of my interest in this area after moving to Hawaii, and could use some help - because I realize how important it is for a majority of those who grow palms.

For others - you can find this ranking in the "Useful Links" drop down menu in the left sidebar.
