Garry,

What is the lowest temperature you've heard and/or experienced this plant surviving?

Thanks,

Jason

The new name is lanonia dasyantha and they are about the same requirements as licuala ramsayi around 30 degrees possibly a little cooler. Plant it in filtered light to full shade. I just purchased a small one and I have high hopes for it doing well in my 10a-10b climate. stunning palm when it matures with mottling on the leaves

Thanks for your guys' question and sharing information.

Based on the growing experiments reported. Say in 2002, the 1 year old seedling and adult palms did not notice any damage after 2 continuous raining days as low as -2C(28.4F) in Guilin City, Guangxi Province ,P.R.China where the lowest temperature goes down to -5C(23F. But we did not try them in harder conditions as we got much warm climate with mild winter going down to 0C.

We still have around 100 germinated L.dasyantha seeds popping up from time to time.

Be quick to get the last share of them for this year if you are interested.
