Anyone know what this is? I got an inquiry from the local Ag center,looks to be an Acanthaceae.

Phlogacanthus turgidus.

ID provided by specialist Dr. Lucinda McDade, via Dylan Hannon at The Huntington and Leon Massoth who knew the genus...

Where did you get it? And what are its requirements?

FWIW, Leon at XOTX-Tropico (900 N Fairfax Ave, West Hollywood-- 323.654.9999) says he's growing this. I didn't inquire as to cost/quantities...

Thanks, I have never heard of this one before. Gardinos has it so I will have to try some here.

That plant in the pics isn't mine. Someone at the local county ag center sent them to me to ID.
