Which are your top ten best growers?

Mauna Kea Cloudforest

It's Spring time, and it's time to assess what palms live up to what they should look like and which ones really don't belong here. Here are my top ten fastest growers and best looking palms in no particular order:

1) parajubaea (all species)

2) brahea (all species, especially edulis)

3) trachycarpus (all species)

4) archontophoenix (all species)

5) beccariophoenix alfredii

6) dypsis ambositrae

7) dypsis baronii

8) rhopies (all species)

9) arenga micrantha (mine is turning into a monster)

10) hedycepe

and some honorable mentions:

- pritchardia hildebrandii, minor, beccariana, remota and munroii all are doing very well here.

- livistona australis, nitida, mariae, rigida and decora

- sabal causiarum

- ceroxylon, slow but steady.

And the most promising new good growers, but they need some more years to prove themselves here.

- kentiopsis oliviformis (hands down my best looking, best growing newcal palm)

- licuala ramsayi

- livistona saribus

- bismarckia nobilis, they look surprisingly good now that it's warmer again.
