It started out pretty big but got smaller as it passed over land. How did our friends in North Queensland make out?

It appears to have been much less bad than predicted.

I for one, am glad. Make some salad out of boiled eggs, or give them to the cats.

Alas, there will be plenty of time for real bad ones in the future . . . . .

Tropical Cyclone ITA paid me a visit (as did the other 2 cyclones this season)........The eye came right over the top of my place. She brought some pretty intense rain with her and 120km/h winds but she was quite a compact system and passed by quite quickly. Some of my newer plantings were flattened but I went out next morning and stood them up again. Generally there was no real damage done.

I was referring to an article by an Ozzian who noted that the prudent thing to do facing a cyclone is to boil some eggs, in the event of prolonged power disruption, so you'll have something to eat.

So, he boiled 22 and professed annoyance (or being sarcastic?) that Ita wasn't Sandy. My cats love hard boiled eggs . . . .
