Anytime you're dealing with a single expensive mail order palm,it's always a good idea to ask for pictures of the exact palm you will be purchasing.I know Elizabeth will be happy to take pics.

To illustrate how just a description could be somewhat misleading, look at my pic of 2 Pseudophoenix eckmanii. They came from the same seed batch and were similar 1 gallon plants when I got them 10 years ago.Plant in ground is only 16" planted height while the one in the pot would be 24" planted height. Which would you rather have?

Thanks - learned something new today! (PH)

Those two palms look pretty much the same to me, although the potted one seems pretty "leggy." I'd be happy with either one - but you do have a good point. This is why I always like shopping in person - so I can hand-pick which I like, based on structure, etc. (Assuming you're talking about the potted one, and the one to the left, not the blue one.) I don't like "stock photos" which are very misleading indeed.

If anyone would like any pictures of plants they are interested in please don't hesitate! I will take pictures and if you like the pictured palm, I will ship you the exact palm pictured of course. Happy growing!!

Shipping in the raw for 2 each Copernicia ekmanii 3gal and Copernicia hospita to California. We have become excellent shippers, making sure your material arrives as if you picked it up yourself.

This is the only proper way of shipping a packet, but it is not distinguished through originality of idea, I always do the the same for shipping potted palms privately, and in this way I have carried palms in my suitcase on an airplane.

Yes we used bamboo stakes to help support the plants. Even with the stickers "This End Up" doesn't mean the box will be properly transported. In this case we applied 3 each bamboo stakes cut to exact height of box per 3 gal plant. The stakes are secured with the plastic wrapping, which helps hold in moisture during transit. :interesting:

Just want to thank Elizabeth and DAsign Source Botanicals for my shipment of some Pseudophoenix sargentii navassana to Cali. It took exactly 1 week by UPS ground so I was a little concerned. However the contents arrived intact, same as if I bought at the nursery! They do an excellent job packaging and protecting the palm for shipment as you can see. Contents in 1 box were 2 - 3gl, 5- 1gl and 10 liners.

I am little late to the party, but do you still have any palms left that are certified able to ship to CAL? I joined palm talk this yr and just saw this.  I will send PM. Thanks.
