So,,,, Heres some old Autocross Runs I did in the Car in my Avatar. My 1979 TVR 3000S.

Probably into the mid 40 mph range.. BUT I think it was A famous race car driver that said doing 200mph is not scary, its doing 45mph when the posted safe limit is 15mph.

I instructed a lot and never really noted I was a nationally ranked driver and had taken 2nd in the nation in my class the previous year.. so while the "actual" top speed was not high, based on the size of the course and the tightness of the turns, it would be similar to doing 120-130 down the freeway.. :) Give or take.

And I should add those were special super sticky street legal tires which I occasionally drove on the road, lots of people wanted to "play" and after the 2nd car went off a curving on ramp attempting to keep up with me, I decided I should not play on the streets with those tires anymore.. :o

I was definitely impressed by those tight turns since the course was obviously very compact in size. I can imagine the adrenalin going at top speed - probably just as exciting as seeing the prestoniana open up a new frond! :lol:

Heres a twist..About 13 years ago this was MY car... I sold it as a project, it went to Virginia, then France now in the UK. I had it about 13 years as a project too... 1964 TVR Griffith 200

Thats the new/current owner driving Dave. The combination of over 400 horsepower, rain and all in the size of car like an MG Midget causes the twitchiness... although it should get better with development.

Didn't even notice the video. I just recall someone spinning out in a light rain directly in front of me entering the 10 Freeway, who, apparently, didn't have sticky tires. Or good sense.

I once had a pair of Sticky Shoes, which, unlike the look-alike Slippery Shoes ( :indifferent::bemused::rant: :rant: :rage: ), gave a good footing in the rain. Different soles.

Why bother with a banana peel when it's built right in?
