I have about a dozen of these, most are in five gallon pots, all were exposed to three nights of 24.8 F (-4.4 C) and a fourth consecutive night at 27.8 F. No white frost.

Only had two viable seeds from DR and forgot about them until today (shame on me) oh well fingers crossed.

One A. totai and one A. aculeata both with 15 feet of trunk. Both was expose to 2 nights at 18F.... A. totai got about 50% leaf burn and A. aculeata got close to 90% burn... both had a new head of leaves by the end of the summer...
4 A. aculeata in 15 gal pots exposed to two nights @ 20F were 75% damage or more... all recovered by the end of the summer...

Chris - Was it wet or dry with the 18°F weather you got? How have the large Acrocomia palms done since the summer of 2008 - any lasting effect?

Multiple hours below freezing, ultimate low around 20 degrees. Severe damage, probably dead, no sign of growth.

Seed purchased as A. totai from RPS. Low of 14F. 14 days straight of below freezing temps. 50% overhead protection. ~15 Plants in 3 gal pots with multiple character leaves had 100% leaf damage. Thought ALL were toast as they had the look of melting candles. Luckily I've had 0 time to work on my plants or else I would have tossed these in the compost. All but one are coming back and most are putting up their first undamaged leaf. I'm sorta excited about this one as it took a lot of work (cracking seeds, 2 to germinate) to get these to sprout.

Acrocomia totai in a 5g, 4ft overall in height.
A dry 24f - no damage.
