Air-drained coastal slope, 20 miles inland, almost entirely coastal influence. Slightly psycho Mediterranean climate.

4 A. aculeata in 15 gal pots exposed to two nights @ 20F were 75% damage or more... all recovered by the end of the summer...
Low Desert...... Zone 9b
Jan ave 66 high and 40 low
July ave 105 high and 80 low
About 4 to 8 frost a year...ave yearly min temp about 27F
About 8 inches of rain a year.
Low Desert

Cool Mtn climate at 7,000'

Multiple hours below freezing, ultimate low around 20 degrees. Severe damage, probably dead, no sign of growth.
