Great shots, Love the garden and fence. Seeing these shots makes me miss my home state of Alaska, but only for a second :).

Did you get some green pictures before they turn brown?

:(

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

I hope nothing will turn brown!!

It depends how long is this temperature lasting but also what is the temperature;

Here in Montreux we have many Trachycarpus, Chamaerops and Brahea on the lakeside and in the streets. They're ok.

Beautiful pictures but freezing ; I am glad I'll go to Sri Lanka next week!

You have some old plants given your short growing season. How long have you had your garden?

Nice photos, but I got a chill just looking at them. Those Trachy's are one tough genus of palms.

Len, I live here for 25 years now, but the big Chamaerops I bought in 1981 in Belgium.

Wim, some really neat pics you posted! Wow, looks pretty chilly.

Is that a Yucca rostrata in the upper left picture?

Beautiful photos and landscape! I still think snow and ice look charming from inside a warm building or vehicle. However I'm counting down the winters until I can escape to a frost free climate where I never actually have to get cold again....

Stunning pictures Wim - really great shots.

All the best from a wet, steamy, humid Jakarta.

Yes Joe, that's a rostrata and it is in the ground for about seven years now. It's never been protected!

Beautiful pictures, hope it doesn't stay cold to long.
