My Garden in 2005 Blast from the Past.

Recommended Posts

Here is my garden back in 2005. I had spent the whole spring getting things ready for a garden tour in my garden and this was about a week later.

Some of these plants are gone killed in big freeze of 2010, other were taken out for outgrowing there space. It was a garden tour so I planted lots of flowers.

South facing front yard.

Several years later all the Gum trees were all cut down. Growing 9' per year was fun to watch. They gave lots of overhead winter protection.

Thanks Don!!! Back then I would call my garden a big leaf temperate tropical garden, now I have embraced my wet climate and have gone for more of a temperate wet subtropical look.

Troy thanks.

T. martianus is not hardy for me, only lives a few years and then dies in one of my z8 winters.

I replace the flax with cordylines, but still have some smaller ones around.

BTW....its going to be 90F today in Seattle!............................. April fools..... :P

Thanks everyone I have learn to use the right plants for the right climate. That doesn't mean I won't try something way out of my gardening zone but the bones have got to be hardy.

Sometimes I wonder what I could do if I lived in z10-11.
