Stunning Bill, lucky enough to have seen these in their native heartland of Burma in 1990 /91. Unlucky enough by not having a warm enough climate to grow one. Spectacular tree, thanks for posting Pete. :)

These are NOT as tender as we have been lead to believe. The Arboretum's Amherstia has been in bloom for three months now. It should be tried in more places.
So many species,
so little time.

I wish mine look as good as yours..... probably doesn't like where I am planting it. The browneopsis is 3 times as big now and planted at the same time and same size... Might have to plant another one somewhere else....

Your tree (and photos) are stunning! Congratulations! I get to check on my two small ones next week. Those new leaves plus orchid like flowers are hard to beat! My one experience with a fresh seed picked off a friend's tree was quick germination and a rapid growth rate. So I hope your tree makes those gorgeous seed pods (with potential new plants inside) soon! I gave the seedling to the women who sold us our farm and she's delighted to watch it grow rapidly.
