I want to start a small new collection with unusual plants in old groups.

Here's a quick list of things--I'll probably add more later on--that I have been reading about...

  • Gnetum
  • Ascarina, Sarcandra, Chloranthus
  • Amborella
  • Agathis
  • Illicium
  • Nageia (Podocarpus) nagi
  • Wollemia (good luck!)
  • Phyllocladus
  • other odd conifers

Some of these are pretty common in horticulture but I hope to find more sources. Others seem to have been around the trade only sporadically.

I'm also shopping around for cycads, especially smaller Zamia species, and I might also like to find more unusual Equisetum.

I am mainly growing these as potted specimens for the patio and as houseplants.

I'd really appreciate any offers or leads that you might have.

Thanks for considering this!
