Is the D. decipiens under-nourished from crowded root space? I remember it having a much thicker crown-shaft and wider canopy just a few years ago. Or is it a normal trunk narrowing habit similar to old Jubaea chilensis and Hyophorbe lagenicaulis? possibly also from reduced nutrient uptake?

The Ceroxylon ventricosum is epic !
Is the garden irrigated the Jubaeopsis. looks like it could use a drop ?

You should enjoy the real experience of the Dalmatian region. Food, vine, arts, and than... for example... a wonderful summer afternoon, power nap. ![]()

Troy, I suspect the fronds are showing cold damage from winter. I'm certain the gardens are on automatic irrigation.

I live 'bout a mile from Pauleen's house... Whenever I head over to BevMo or Trader Joe's I take the side route by her place. One day last September I hit a red stoplight at this Chambeyronia Hookeri
