This is quite intresting. Thought to have gone extinct by 1920 because of rats being accidentally introduced to the mainland in 1918!

The link has a video of the first one hatching in captivity! These bugs are as big as our hands.

What's the quote from "Jurassic Park"?..."Life will always find a way".

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

Does this mean we can finally exterminate all the rats on Lord Howe Island?

That was great Randy. I was at the historic Landsborough Hotel sitting in a half open dining area the other evening with my wife and the two travellers Troy and Colin and a stick insect flew in and landed on an adjoining table where people sat. Apart from one old lady, nobody got spooked, the insect didn't either. Most people love these guys. I'd say there's not much hope of complete eradication the LHI rats.

Happy Gardening

Cheers,
